Chase Infiniti's next role takes her from Oscar buzz to horror thrill

Chase Infiniti isn’t wasting any time following her breakout in One Battle After Another.

The rising star has landed her first major film role since the Best Picture winner, signing on to headline Portrait of God, a mysterious new horror movie from filmmaker Dylan Clark and co-writer Joe Russo.

Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps, but the project is described as a fresh take on religious horror. Clark previously made a short film with the same title in 2022, which racked up millions of views online.

And the horror credentials behind the feature are hard to ignore. Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw are producing, marking the first collaboration between the two genre heavyweights.

“We’re delighted to deepen our creative partnership with Dylan Clark, whose remarkable talent and distinctive perspective make him one of the most exciting emerging voices in horror,” Lionsgate film boss Adam Fogelson said.

“With Sam and Jordan, two of the genre’s most influential producers, the extraordinary Chase Infiniti starring, and Dylan at the helm, this is an exceptional creative team. We believe they have all the ingredients for a film that is haunting, thought-provoking, and scary as hell.”

Clark is also directing Lionsgate’s upcoming Blair Witch Project reboot, making Portrait of God another major step for the filmmaker who built a following through viral horror shorts.

“I’m also thrilled to welcome Chase Infiniti to our team. She blew me away in One Battle After Another and is one of the most exciting young actors working today,” Clark said.

Infiniti’s next move comes after One Battle After Another won six Oscars. Her previously filmed follow-up, The Julia Set, recently premiered at TIFF and is currently seeking distribution.

With Infiniti, Raimi and Peele involved, Portrait of God already has horror fans asking one question: what exactly is hiding behind that title?
