Hayden Panettiere was ‘traumatised' before her painful death

Hayden Panettiere’s role in Nashville became much more personal than she ever expected.

The late actress got massive praise for playing Juliette Barnes, a troubled country singer whose life was filled with addiction, mental health struggles and problems in her personal life.

But behind the scenes, Hayden felt that some of Juliette’s story was becoming too close to her own personal life.

In 2024, she said filming Nashville was “very traumatising” because she used to feel like she was acting out things that were happening to her.

She, however, pointed out that Juliette dated a football player, just as Hayden was dating NFL star Scotty McKnight at the time.

Later, the character faced alcohol problems, motherhood struggles and time away from her daughter.

Hayden was also going through the same phase in her own life as well. After having her daughter Kaya, she struggled with postnatal depression and alcohol addiction.

The late star’s daughter later then started living with her father, Wladimir Klitschko, while Hayden focused on getting better.

The actress shared that the similarities made it hard to look after herself, also admitting that she sometimes could not tell where Juliette ended and Hayden started.

By the end of the series, Hayden said she did not want to celebrate the finale because that part of her life was too painful to remember as a happy memory.
