Diddy faces another major setback as court delivers ruling
Sean Combs hit another rough patch after a New York judge dismissed his $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal.
The case was linked to the 2025 documentary Diddy The Making of a Bad Boy, which explored past allegations and controversies connected to him.
Combs earlier claimed that the film damaged his reputation and affected his business, saying that it presented him in a negative and misleading way.
However, the court did not agree with his argument as the judge said there was not enough proof to show that the documentary caused serious harm to his image.
It was also noted that the film showed different sides of the story, including the rapper’s own denials, allowing everyone to make their own judgment instead of being pushed in one direction.
In the ruling, the judge also made it very clear that courts should not interfere in editorial decisions made by media organisations.
Because of this, the claims against NBCUniversal, its streaming service Peacock and production company Ample Entertainment were dismissed.
NBCUniversal’s legal team welcomed the decision and described it as an important moment for free speech and journalism.
The lawsuit was first filed in 2025 and its dismissal adds to the legal pressure Combs is already facing.
