Taylor Swift makes emotional move amid Blake Lively rift

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s once-famous friendship may have reached its final chapter — and this time, the split reportedly involves a role that went far beyond Hollywood parties.

The singer-songwriter has reportedly stepped back from being the godmother of Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ three eldest daughters, James, Inez and Betty, as the former best friends continue to remain estranged.

“It was one of the toughest decisions she’s ever had to make,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“It was very emotional because she loves the girls. It hurt her heart, but she had no choice given the circumstances. She wanted to make a clean and total break.”

The reported decision comes after Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni dragged Swift into the drama surrounding It Ends With Us.

Their friendship appeared increasingly strained, with Lively notably missing from Swift’s reported July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce.

For Lively, sources claim, the wedding was particularly painful.

“Seeing Gigi, Cara [Delevingne] and all the people that Blake used to be so close to celebrating with Taylor without her was a brutal reminder of how much has changed.”

Swift’s connection to the Reynolds family was once incredibly close. She spent time with the children, hosted them at her Rhode Island home and even incorporated their names into her music.

Ryan Reynolds previously confirmed Swift’s godmother role, joking that hiring her as a babysitter would be “cost-insane-what-are-you-doing-I’m-no-longer-your-accountant”.

Now, another source claimed, “Taylor’s in a different place now and she just wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace.”

And just like that, the friendship that once looked unbreakable reportedly has a very different ending.
