Sean 'Diddy' Combs gets out of solitary confinement to good news

Sean “Diddy” Combs just spent three weeks in solitary confinement, and a lot has happened since his time locked up.

TMZ reported on Thursday, August 13, that the disgraced music mogul is finally out of solitary confinement. He was thrown in there after being involved in a prison fight on July 24, per the outlet.

Combs, who has been in prison since September 2024, reportedly “took matters into his own hands” after feeling disrespected by another inmate, TMZ reported last month. The two men began pushing each other before security swiftly broke up the fight.

The 56-year-old came out of solitary confinement to some good news: his release date has been moved up to January 2028. The news was first confirmed days after he was tossed into solitary confinement.

It’s not the first time his release date has been changed. In October 2025, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after a two-month trial found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, with the time he already served counting towards that sentence. This originally put his release date at May 28, 2028.

Earlier this year, the date was changed to April 25, then April 15, before moving to February 23, and now January. Projected release dates can be changed on multiple factors such as good behaviour, time served, and participation in prison rehabilitation programs.
