'Black Panther' casting ignites major Marvel showdown

Marvel has finally revealed who will become the next Black Panther, but the announcement has split fans.

While many are happy with the choice, others still believe another actor should have landed the role.

Director Ryan Coogler confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that David Jonsson will play the adult son of T'Challa in Black Panther 3.

The character was first seen as a young boy at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

In the new film, he will grow up and take on the Black Panther mantle.

Soon after the announcement, fans went to social media to share their thoughts as many are excited to see Jonsson join the Marvel family.

They, however, pointed to his performances in Alien: Romulus and The Long Walk, saying he has already shown he can carry a big film.

One fan called him "an absolutely amazing actor," while another said Marvel made the perfect choice.

But not everyone agreed as many fans admitted they were hoping to see Damson Idris play the role instead.

Some said Idris was always their first choice, even though they believe Jonsson will do a good job.

Others got a different concern as they questioned why Marvel decided to focus on T'Challa's son instead of recasting the original Black Panther.

Some also wondered how the story would explain the young boy becoming an adult so quickly.

Marvel has not commented on the reactions, but the casting has already become one of the biggest talking points from this year's Comic Con.
