Simone Biles reveals 'scariest' health battle: 'Almost died this week
Simone Biles opened up about her scary health battle, revealing that she "almost" died.
The 11-time Olympic medalist took to her Instagram account to share with fans that she spent days "in bed resting" and expressed her gratitude to her close ones who reached out to her during her undisclosed illness.
"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age,” Simone wrote on her Stories along with a picture of her hand wearing three hospital wrist bands, apparently taken in a hospital.
“But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week.”
While her husband, NFL player Jonathan, is currently in Indianapolis after being traded to the Colts, she penned while sitting in Texas, "This was one of, if not the scariest, experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices."
However, the gymnast has not offered any further information but thanked those who showed up for her, noting, "I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later, but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers."
In another story, Simone posted a picture of a bouquet with colorful flowers and garlands placed in a glass jar filled with water.
Simone, who made her Olympic debut at the age of 19 and won over 30 World Championship medals, has not confirmed her participation in the 2028 Olympics yet.
She said in April 2025 after the 2024 Olympics, "Right now, I'm still focusing on healing physically and mentally because doing the Olympics, it kind of takes a toll on your body."
