Britney Spears breaks silence on what sparked her social media 'rebellion': 'Feel so cheap and crazy'

Britney Spears is finally speaking about her “rebellion” on social media over the last three years.

The 44-year-old pop star took to her Instagram account on Monday morning and posted a detailed note revealing the reason behind what she calls her uprising on Instagram.

Britney claimed that several of her belongings, including coats, jewelry and half of her wardrobe, went missing three years ago, leaving her emotionally hurt.

While reflecting on the incident and its lasting impact on her, she penned, "Not a victim, I’m just curious as to how people were able to make me feel so cheap and crazy when my coats, jewelry and half my wardrobe went missing 3 years ago."

Britney admitted that the response she received at the time made her feel helpless.

“I’m going back to that week because it actually did something to me physiologically when the response was nothing we can do about it … it 100 percent hurt me emotionally and felt completely helpless,” she explained.

Though the songstress admitted that she no longer misses the missing items, she believes the incident changed the way she presented herself online.

“Not showing the coats or jewelry, here are the dresses …. it’s honestly strange, I don’t perhaps miss the clothes … I will say ever since that happened I 100 percent rebelled on Instagram and showed myself as cheap and probably secretly angry,” she continued.

Britney concluded her thoughts with a question about whether the people responsible knew the emotional impact their actions would have.

“Question is if this is crazy talk or did whomever came into my home and stole that much money know exactly what they were doing !!!” she added.

It is pertinent to mention that Britney first talked about the robbery in 2024 and expressed her fear of her belongings being stolen again.
