Trump again claims he ended Pakistan-India conflict, says he merits Nobel Peace Prize

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday again asserted that he had resolved the Pakistan-India conflict and maintained that he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for each of the eight wars he claims to have concluded.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Trump referred to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and said, “We ended eight wars… but we’re going to do one more, I think, I hope.”

He said that he had repeatedly been told he would be a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize if he succeeded in ending a war.

Fox News reported on its social media website X:  "Every time I end a war they say, 'If President Trump ends that war, he's going to get the Nobel Prize.'"

"If I end that war... 'Well, he won't get it for that war. But if he ever gets it for the next war.'"

"Now they're saying, 'If he ever ends the war with Russia and Ukraine, he's going to get the Nobel Prize.'"

"What about the other eight wars? ... Think of all the wars I ended."

"I should get the Nobel Prize for every war. But I don't want — I don't want to be greedy."

Trump said his primary concern was the human toll of ongoing conflicts, and noted that María Corina Machado Parisca, the Venezuelan activist who received the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, had expressed the view that he deserved the award.

Since May 10 — when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire following what he described as a “long night” of US-mediated talks — he has repeated more than 60 times that he “helped settle” tensions between the two countries.
