Jafar Express mastermind 'mysteriously' killed in Afghanistan

Gul Rehman, also known as Ustad Mureed, a senior commander and trainer of the banned terrorist group Fitna-ul-Hindustan (Majeed Brigade), has been mysteriously killed in Afghanistan.

According to Indian media and social media, the terrorist, who played a key role in multiple attacks in Pakistan, died in Helmand province on September 17, 2025.

Mastermind of Jafar Express attack

According to intelligence sources, Gul Rehman was the mastermind behind the deadly Jafar Express attack. His operational planning and training expertise made him one of the most dangerous figures in the militant network.

Operational commander of Fitna-ul-Hindustan

Rehman was serving as both a trainer and operational commander of the Fitna-ul-Hindustan outfit, also known as the Majeed Brigade. The group has long been involved in cross-border terrorism, particularly targeting Pakistan’s security interests.

Attacks on security forces and citizens

Authorities say Gul Rehman played a direct role in several attacks targeting Pakistani security forces, Chinese nationals working on development projects, and innocent citizens. His involvement extended to assaults on state institutions, creating instability and fear among local communities.

Targeting CPEC projects

Sources further confirmed that the terrorist network under Gul Rehman had specifically targeted China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. These projects, considered vital for Pakistan’s economic future, have repeatedly come under attack from hostile militant elements.

The US has already declared the Majeed Brigade a global terrorist organization. Pakistan and China have also demanded that the UN place Fitna-ul-Hindustan’s Majeed Brigade on its list of terrorist organizations, the sources added.
