Taylor Swift breaks silence on LA wildfires

Taylor Swift is making contributions towards Los Angeles Fires relief.

The Grammy winner, 35, has made several donations to help those affected by the wildfires—sending cheques to organisations like Greater Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Swift also lamented the devastating fires that sparked on January 7, displacing tens of thousands of residents with 25 confirmed fatalities.

"The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it's been heartbreaking to see the stories unfold. So much suffering, loss, and destruction," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

She continued, "As many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild."

Swift then listed and tagged organisations she's donated to, such as 211 LA, the California Community Foundation Relief, Direct Relief, the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, the Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fires Response Fund were also groups Swift contributed to.

"If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do," she added.

She has made millions of dollars donations previously as well for natural disaster relief, like for Hurricane Helene and Milton as well as a deadly tornado in Tennessee in 2023.
